Jim Marconi was born and raised in Sudbury, Ontario. He began his culinary adventure at Marconi's Restaurant. This is where, at the age of fourteen, Jim learned how to cater to large groups. He was the comical chef behind the open concept kitchen window at Marconi's. It was also there where Jim mastered his charcuterie and pasta skills. Jim has perfected his talent in California, Toronto, and also on his travels to Umbria, Tuscany and Le Marche Regions of Italy. He is the chef extraordinaire that has led the culinary team at Ristorante Verdicchio for 14 years.

Jim has always been a pro at making soups, no wonder it's his favourite dish to cook. Jim has won numerous awards, including a 1st prize win at the Toronto Soup competition at the International Centre for his sinfully delicious Shrimp Bisque.
